Easter 2020
These 8 images were created sitting with a Black Walnut tree 80-100 years old, in my garden in Richmond Hill, Canada. I was engaged in an 8 step process of accompanying the tree on the journey through what is known as “Holy Week”. Each step on the journey representing an experience of taking up the task of becoming true to oneself and the destiny of the Earth. This is celebrating in certain exoteric religions as Easter. There is also an 8 day journey celebrated as Passover. They each have a different relationship to the Moon. Easter celebrates it culmination on the “Sun” day after the vernal full moon. Passover celebrates the week following the vernal full moon. Sun/Moon are somehow present in these images. Which image touches you. You can look at the events that took place in Jerusalem beginning on Palm Sunday and culminating in Easter Sunday. The drawings correspond to that unfolding journey which , in many ways is the archetypal journey from the 7 fold to the 8 fold. This is related to our task of choosing love over karma.
